We’re dancing Lindy Hop in the official Gmail video by Google
Google ran a contest last month in order to build a collaborative video through Youtube for Gmail. The idea was to pass the Gmail logo (an M envelope) in a creative way through video. Ann and I submitted a video of us swinging out with the envelope, and guess what? We made it onto the final cut!
Gmail: Behind the Scenes (Final Cut)
A compilation of clips submitted by Gmail fans as part of our collaborative video project. Selected from over 1,100 clips from fans in more than 65 countries. Learn more at http://mail.google.com/mvideoThank you to Etienne for filming it!

Dear Gmail Team,
Thank you for selecting our video (the dancers swinging out).
Lindy Hop is the original swing dance from the 1930’s and 40’s, born at the Savoy ballroom in Harlem, New York. I’m flattered that we could represent the Lindy Hop community around the world through this video.
Sincerely,
Alain & Ann from Cat’s Corner in Montreal

Hey! Thanks for posting on my blog! Your clip was immediately one of my favorites. I love the rhythm, the way the Mvelope bounces across the screen, and the energy that you two exude. My nickname growing up was Lindy, so it’s pretty cool to find out that my favorite clip was actually the Lindy Hop! Sweet! Congrats on getting selected!!!
